The office of New York State Senator Andrew Gounardes is seeking a scheduler to fill the role immediately.
Scheduler
Full Scheduling/Advance work - act as gatekeeper to Senator’s time and availability
Briefing management - structuring, editing, maintaining staff deadlines for briefings and memos, assisting as needed
Constituent services/casework and support community liaisons in their casework
Maintain relationships with schedulers in other local elected offices to coordinate events and share calendar info (as approved by Chief of Staff)
Attend virtual and in-person community meetings and events on behalf of the Senator and office
Continue to provide additional, general support for Senator and Chief of Staff in whatever area is needed (i.e. lighten workloads, build new systems, etc)
To be successful in this role a candidate should have strong communications, operations, and interpersonal skills.Candidates should have an interest in public service, an understanding of government and public policy, and an ability to think creatively.
Understanding of Senate District 26, and proficiency in a second language strongly preferred.
Salary
Salary starts at $50,000 depending on experience. The positions come with an excellent benefits package including health, dental, optical, and retirement benefits.
